Signs of Addiction
Symptoms of addiction varies by type of substance. They may
include any of the following:
Alcohol:
Slurred speech
Stumbling
Change in normal routines, such as desire to go to work or school.
Smell of alcohol on breath.
Methamphetamine:
Signs include hyperactivity and sleeplessness. Most so-called uppers or speed cause a level of hyperactivity including incessant talking. Addicts may also lose appetite or sleep far less than normal, and may lose weight loss quickly.
Cocaine:
Symptoms are similar to Methamphetamines.
Pills:
Prescription pill addiction symptoms vary widely and depend on the prescribed substance. Pain relievers are commonly abused.
People addicted to them may exhibit euphoria, and be in a state of peacefulness. Withdrawal signs can include tremors of the body or twitches of body parts including hands, feet, and eyes.
Marijuana:
Symptoms include:
Memory and learning difficulty
Distorted perception
Difficulty thinking clearly
Loss of coordination
Elevated heart rate
Anxiousness
Panic attacks |
